Welcome to the Martins Ferry Aquatic Club!

MFAC is a competitive swim team that offers a spring and summer season. During the summer season, the team participates in the Ohio Valley Swim League. Summer season home meets and practices are located at the Martins Ferry City Pool. Spring season practices are held at The Linsley School.

The summer recreational swim team is divided into age/ability groups for both boys and girls. The age groups are approximately 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. Swim meets are held on weekday evenings at local swimming pools with invitationals on Saturdays and a championship meet held the end of July.

The spring swim team is for middle school aged students. Practices are held two or three times a week. The swim meets will occur on Saturday mornings at The Linsly School. 

Founded in 1968, MFAC, a 501C3 non-profit, has encouraged the importance of water safety to the citizens of Martins Ferry and its surrounding cities. We provide a fun, active, and safe environment to all of our swimmers. We are a youth rec swim team located in Martins Ferry, OH.

What Is It? Martins Ferry Aquatic Club (MFAC) offers a recreational youth summer swim team. This year the team will be led by MFAC alum Holly McCormack! She’ll be leading a very talented coaching staff with many years of combined competitive coaching experience! To name a few coaches on staff this summer will be John McGowan, Demitris Briggs, Jarrett Bolinger, John Robertson and Meredith Hahn Levi with many additional helpers. Swim meets will be held on weeknights and select Saturdays from June to July.

Who Can Join? Any child age 5 as of 6/1/2026 through graduating high school senior. No prior competitive swim experience is required!

Practice: Practices are held at the Martins Ferry Pool--Monday-Friday at 6:15-7:15pm and at 7:15-8:15pm. Practice groups are determined by age and skill level.

Introduction Week: Tuesday, May 26th - Friday, May 29th. The first practices will be a skills evaluation for all swimmers. Practice group assignments will be announced prior to the first full team session, and swimmers will be placed into their regular practice groups during or after the introductory week. It is anticipated that

• First practice for new swimmers only will start on Tuesday, May 26th at 6:15pm
• First practice for returning swimmers only will start on Wednesday May 27th at 6:15pm

  • $90 for first swimmer and then $70 thereafter for same household
• In-Person Registration and Swimville Suit fitting (optional) – Wednesday, April 29th 6:00pm-7:30pm at the Martins Ferry Rec Center.

  • $105 for first swimmer and then $85 thereafter for same household

Time: Practices will be at Linsly on 2 nights a week. Starting the second week in March. Dates TBD

Cost: $70 for each swimmer (price includes: pool rental, insurance, coaches' fees, and latex swim cap).

Tentative Meets: March 28th, April 11th, April 25th, and May 2nd. All meets will be at 9:30am at The Linsly School in Wheeling, WV.
